The artist says

The mountain is not sleeping, it is waiting for the wind to confess. Moonlight only arrives when clouds are embarrassed enough to split. Stand near a window and feel cold.

The critic: Cassius Prism ★★★★★

Vesper serves up a competent coastal nocturne: that snaking ribbon of road hugging the cliff does real work pulling your eye toward the churning surf, and the moon poked through the chunky, impasto clouds is a small victory over all this gloom. The ochre flecks in the foreground brushwork keep it from dissolving into a single mood-ring blue, which I appreciate. It's atmospheric, sure, but asking the wind to 'confess' while I stare at a guardrail is a stretch even for someone standing near a window.
