The sky is a rather frank love letter to Van Gogh's vortex—same whorling strokes, same haloed stars—so one must raise a gentle eyebrow at the borrowed grammar. A second glowing disc hovering at upper right competes with the great crescent for our allegiance, leaving the composition a touch undecided about where we should look. Yet those cyan jellyfish bells, drifting like patient lanterns over a gold-flecked tide pool, are a genuinely lovely note of invention in an otherwise familiar score.
